Educational Philosophy

UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung has formulated an educational philosophy of“wahyu memandu ilmu” (WMI) or the Quran-guided knowledge (science, philosophy, and art).As an Islamic institution, the university is responsible to advance the science and technologyas well as to preserve Islamic spirit and values of the Muslim stakeholders.

Courses

The curriculum structure designed by the ELSP is set up into two subject compositions: specific courses and generic courses. The former consists of primary courses (linguistics, literature, translation, and language skills) with 134 credit hours and elective courses (14 credit hours).

Qualified Lecturers

To ensure the curriculum structure runs well, the ELSP is supported by qualified academic staff and support staff that work hand in hand to serve the students professionally. In 2022, ELSP has 37 permanent academics with different educational qualifications: one professor, 11 doctors, and 25 master degree holders. Three of 25 lecturers with master degrees are doing doctoral studies.

The faculty will educate and assist students with a civilized and humanistic learning theory, with the hope of creating a superior and competitive generation, both in skills and morals.
