Benchmarking of English Literature from USD Yogyakarta to FAH UIN SGD for AUN-QA Accreditation Preparation

Klikwarta.com, Bandung – Deputy Dean I, Faculty of Adab and Humanities (Fakultas Adab dan Humaniora/FAH) UIN Sunan Gunung Djati (SGD) Bandung, Dr. Dadan Rusmana, M.Ag. accompanied by Deputy Dean III, Dr. H. Ading Kusdiana, M.Ag, Secretary of the English Literature Study Program, H. Nurholis, S.S., M. Hum., Head of Sub-department of Academic Affairs, Hj. Ati Rahmawati, M.Ag received a visit from the English Literature Study Program, Faculty of Literature, Sanata Dharma University (USD) Yogyakarta totaling 12 people, at FAH Hall, Campus I, Jln. A.H.Nasution No. 105 Cipadung Cibiru Bandung City, Wednesday (18/12/ 2019).

Head of USD English Literature Study Program, Drs. Hirmawan Wijanarka, M.Hum explained the visit to the Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) UIN SGD Bandung in the context of benchmarking the English Literature Study Program on developing an OBE (Outcome Based Education)-based curriculum and preparing for AUN-QA (ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance) accreditation ). “Starting from examining the English Literature website of UIN Bandung, we feel that there are similarities to the preparation for AUN-QA accreditation which was initiated by OBE. Indeed, English Literature at UIN Bandung has learned a lot from campuses that have implemented an OBE-based curriculum. We hope, from this visit, story told and input will be very useful for us,” he explained.

Deputy Dean I, Dr. Dadan really appreciated the visit from USD English Literature Study Program. “Alhamdulillah, today we feel very happy because we have a guest visit from Sanata Dharma,” he said.

According to him, English Literature FAH UIN SGD Bandung has visited the campuses of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, UGM and UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta regarding the OBE-based curriculum as a stage of preparing for AUN-QA accreditation. “Currently, the preparations that are being and have been carried out by the faculty are to strengthen the relationship between stakeholders; the dean, lecturers, staff, students, parents and external users who are the key to realizing an OBE-based curriculum and further preparing for ASEAN-level assessments. Relationships This of course is the beginning of the success or failure of the OBE-based curriculum, the achievement of graduates who are focused on learning outcomes,” he explained.

For Nurholis, the visit from English Literature Sanata Dharma felt proud of all the achievements so far.

“Of course, it is proven by explaining what has been obtained from the results of the visit, the input from other campuses previously which is expected to be a reference material, a reference for the presentation of departmental data,” he said.

The Dean of FAH, Dr. H. Setia Gumilar, M.Si. warmly welcomes the arrival of the group who are both doing the benchmarking of English Literature at Sanata Dharma University (USD). He admitted, “Sooner or later the OBE-based curriculum will always be applied simultaneously in the campus environment and it is an honor for the Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) of UIN SGD Bandung, in this case the English Literature study program, to be trusted to share preparation experiences with the Sanata Dharma campus, Yogyakarta,” he concluded.
